BD Mishra to IAF: Medical sorties & evacuations must not be stopped

Itanagar: Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Wednesday appreciated the IAF for its cooperation in providing assistance to the people of the State at the time of emergencies.

Chairing a high-level meeting of IAF and State Government officials at Raj Bhawan here, the Governor stated that medical evacuations and important sorties for the welfare of the people must not be stopped for want of reimbursement of the sorties cost, an official release informed.

Dr Mishra asked the officers from IAF and the state Civil Aviation department to work out the details of the pending bills of IAF liabilities for the state government at the earliest.

The Air Force officers’ team was led by Group Captain J Bahuguna, Command Account Officer of Shillong-based Eastern Air Command.

The IAF officials apprised the governor regarding services provided by the force to the Arunachal Pradesh government, including civil supply and patient evacuations.

Dr Mishra requested the Eastern Air Command to continue the good work in instilling sense of caring amongst the people, particularly in the remote frontier areas, the release said.

The EAC Command Account Officer was accompanied by Wing Commander T Bhardwaj, Chief Operational Officers, 42 Wing (Officiating) Mohanbari and Sqn Ldr Arshiya Kamboj, senior Account Officer based at Mohanbari in Dibrugarh, Assam.

Civil Aviation Secretary S K Jain, Deputy Secretary Bamin Nime and Director T Tatak were present in the meeting, the release added.
