ITANAGAR: A peaceful candle light march was organized on Wednesday to show solidarity with and to demand justice for Late Tamik Taki, whose body was found in the river Siang in Tuting on May 5 last.

The candle light vigil was organized by the Adi Ba:ne Kebang's (ABK) Papumpare unit from Akashdeep Shopping Complex to Solung Mopin Ground, 0 Point in Itanagar.

Speaking on the occasion, ABK Papumpare unit's president Tapang Kopak urged the Home Department to expedite investigation into the case and arrest the culprits involved in such heinous crime, as well as to take stern action as per the law so that no such crime would be repeated again.

The victim's body bore evidence of third-degree torture before he was killed, which is tantamount to the rarest of rare crimes.

"It is a heinous crime and such criminal(s) who are enemies of humanity should have no place in the society and must not go scot-free," Kopak said while urging the Home Department to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits.

Further, Adi Ba:ne Kebang (ABK) Papum Pare unit expressed its heartfelt thankfulness to the Arunachal Indigenous Tribal Forum (AITF), Kuri Dajum Olung (KDO), Anggong Society, media houses of Itanagar Capital complex and members of civil society who came to participate in peaceful candle light march.

Late Tamik Taki was missing since April 22 last from the RWD colony in Itanagar. Later, his body was found floating in the river Siang at the BFCC area of Tuting on May 5 last, with various wounds and with both the hands and legs tied with by 6 mm GI wire.
