Clean Kley River campaign initiate by Apatani Youth Association

Itanagar: The third phase of the Clean Kley River campaign – broadening of Kley River with earthmovers, – initiated by the Apatani Youth Association, which started on Tuesday, concluded at Ziro in Lower Subansiri district on Wednesday. The third phase was carried out in collaboration with the Hydro Power Development Department (DHPD) of Ziro and as a trial basis, check dam shall be constructed by the department and if the check dams successfully serves the purpose, then as a pilot project would be taken up by AYA along with the department in the whole stretch of the river.

The main purpose of the project is to rejuvenate the Kley river flowing through Ziro Valley, an official communique informed here.
