Cyclone lashes Itanagar with heavy rain interrupting its power supply

Itanagar: Power supply was disrupted after a cyclone accompanied with heavy rain for few minutes hit entire Itanagar on Sunday night, Itanagar EAC Hengo Basar said. Power supply to several parts of Capital Complex was disrupted as 11 KV line at Papu Hill was damaged by the cyclone, power department sources said.

However, there was no report of any loss of life and property, Basar said, adding District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) Moromi Sonam has been directed to ascertain if any damage. She, however, said that no official report about damages of dwelling was received.

The Capital Complex came under cover of darkness around 3 PM and vehicle plied with dipper light.
