ITANAGAR: Elaborate security measures have been taken up in Arunachal Pradesh to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day on August 15. About 850 security personnel, including State Police and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), have been deployed in the State capital for ensuring foolproof security to the citizens during the Day’s celebration, Capital SP Tume Amo said. All the entry points to the State capital and other parts of the State would be monitored and massive checking and frisking of vehicles have started round the clock, he informed, adding that night patrolling have been conducted in all the vulnerable places to thwart any untoward incidents during the celebration. “We are leaving no stones unturned to make security of citizens our prime motto; and for this everything possible was being done,” the SP said.

Checking of Inner Line Permit (ILP) has been intensified in all check gates of the State, while checking at various hotels in the capital have been carried out as a preventive measure, Amo said. Chief Minister Pema Khandu would unfurl the National tricolour at the Indira Gandhi Park here, the main venue of the I-Day celebrations.
