ITANAGAR: The president of 'All Arunachal Pradesh Gorkha Welfare Society' (AAPGWS), Sanu Tamang flagged off an ambulance procured through the contribution of the members of the Society at H-sector here recently.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Tamang said that the need of an ambulance and a guest house were long-felt demands of the organization, and expressed happiness that these demands are being fulfilled with the active support and cooperation of the members of the Society and the Gorkha community in general of the State.

She also said that the construction of a guest house in the State's capital has been also started to help the members of the community during any medical or other emergency. "Any member of the community can avail of the facility of the ambulance and the guest house for medical purposes.

''We have suffered a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it will now facilitate the community members during any emergency," she said, adding that the ambulance will be posted at Itanagar.

She also informed that the AAPGWS is a registered organization and has been associated in helping and supporting the Gorkha community.

It is also actively taking part in several social welfare activities being organized by the State government.

"Our efforts are to maintain unity and integrity, communal harmony and brotherhood among the people of the State and the country as a whole," she added.
