Medical Camp By Chowkham Battalion And 402 Field Hospital
ITANAGAR: As part of Army’s continued endeavor towards ensuring better health care in remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh, a medical camp was organized by Chowkham Battalion and 402 Field Hospital under the aegis of Dao Division at Chowkham of Namsai district as part of OP SADBHAVANA on Friday.
The camp was organized keeping in mind the medical problems of the people and the paucity of healthcare resources around Chowkham and adjoining villages which have limited access to medical facilities. Three Army medical officers, one dental officer and a gynecologist along with a team of paramedics both from Army & civil administration actively participated and provided medical treatment and advice. Medical and dental checkups along with consultations, distribution of free medicines was undertaken during course of camp.
A total of 1900 people benefitted. Extensive arrangements were made by Chowkham Battalion to set up the facilities and medical equipment of various specialists for the convenience of the civilians. The participating medical professionals were also instrumental in spreading awareness and educating participants on health issues, prevention of communicable and lifestyle diseases.
A health museum was also setup to create deeper appreciation for personal health. The continuous and relentless efforts of the Indian Army towards conducting such camps in neglected and inaccessible areas were greatly appreciated by the public.
It was a notable action to reach out to the poor and needy people and provide them with health care. The medical camp provided much needed relief and succor to the people.
