MLAs Condole Namsai road mishap deaths

DIGBOI: “I am extremely shocked at the sudden and untimely loss of the lives of six persons including the innocent minors following the unfortunate road mishap that occurred in Namsai on Tuesday late evening”, said Chow Zingnu Namchoom, Namsai MLA.

Besides announcing an immediate one-time financial relief for the smooth conduct of the last rites out of his personal purse, Zingnu while expressing his deep condolence for the departed souls also assured all possible help within the ambit of the provisions of the State Government.

Speaking in the same vein, Somlung Mossasng, MLA of Bordumsa-Diyun also with a heavy heart expressed his condolence for the accident victims. “Increasing road accidents in Bordumsa-Namsai areas has been a matter of serious concern which immediately needs special attention of the department concerned”, said Mossang.

It may be recalled here that a road accident occurred here at 2 Mile, the area opposite to the Poi Pee Mou Festival ground, around one kilometre away from Namsai town here on late Tuesday evening. The tragic incident took place when a Santro car, bearing registration number AS-01-T-8555, heading towards Chesing Wingko village in Piyong area collided with a loaded vehicle parked near the festival ground.

Among the deceased included Mongla Khariya (38), Rinu Khariya (35), Sawan Khariya (4), Junali Khariya (1), Babita Mura (6) Luki Mura (28) while two injured women being treated at Tinsukia Civil hospital includes Kondi Sodiya (39) and Bhoni Mura(21). The driver Babul Mura (24) has been reported missing since the incident while Biswajit Khariya (3), Bhoni Mura (22) and Rita Khariya (25) sustained minor injuries.
