Move on to make Rajiv Gandhi University(RGU)  No 1 university: Nabam Rebia

RONO HILLS: Minister for Land Management, Environment and Forests, Women and Child Development, Social Justice Nabam Rebia attended the ‘XIX UNI-FEST 2018’ valedictory function at Rajiv Gandhi University on Sunday.

Speaking at the valedictory programme Rebia, said action will be initiated against the RGU land encroachers soon. He said this while responding to the one point memorandum submitted to him by the RGUSU in which the students’ union urged him to resolve the boundary issue and recover 64 acres of encroached land at the earliest.

‘Action will be initiated against all the RGU land encroachers and no one will be spared whosoever they may be,” Rebia said adding there will be no compromise on issues related to education and health.

Rebia also informed that district administration has been directed to recover the original map of the university land and conduct proper survey to recover all the encroached land of the university.

Assuring the support of the State government to the University, Rebia said the State is in favor of laying alternative roads for the University as the existing road is very steep and risky. The State will look into requirement of the university in all the aspects to make it a number one university of the country’, he said.
