National Consumer Day Observed Across Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday observed the National Consumer day with several programme organised by the Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs department.

The department at Tawang observed the day with the traders and the people at Yura Tsangpo (New Bazaar) which was graced by Dy SP Dr Thuptan Jambey along with other officers.

Various consumer related issues were discussed on the occasion, an official release informed.

Legal Meteorology and Consumer Affairs Inspector Kesang Tashi gave awareness on Consumer Protection Act 1986 and other Acts. He also informed the general public about the Consumer forum Tawang and its role with reference to its recent cases and judgments.

Speaking on the occasion Jambey informed about the role and duties of traders as well as consumers. He explained in length about various provisions for protection of consumers under the act and penalties there under.

The members of Bazaar Welfare Committee and other traders also took active participation in discussions, the release added.
