North East Youth Festival preliminary coordination meeting convened at Tawang

ITANAGAR: A preliminary coordination meeting for organizing the 7th edition of North East Youth Festival at Tawang was convened on Monday which was chaired by DC Lobsang Tsering and attended by YUVA Arunachal president Tsetan Chombay, all the head of departments of the district besides representatives from army, public leaders and student leaders.

The DC informed that the district has been given the responsibility to organize the event and further sought cooperation from all for its successful.

Coordinator of the festival Tsetan Chombay in his address said that the decision to conduct the event in Tawang has come from the state government which is an opportunity for the people.

“Around 1800 youths from the eight States of North East India will be participating and competing in various events like folk song, folk dance, war of bands, instrumental performance, Beat box Battle, rap song, stand-up comedy, photography, cook-off Master-chef style. graffiti and street art,” he said.

Besides the competitions, there will be rock climbing by the mountaineers, trekking, treasure hunt, and cycling. There will also be a workshop cum training on positive use of social media by experts.

The beauty pageants of North East will be participating in Home grown Fashion show (North East ethnic dress) and besides renowned artistes and singers from North East India, a few from Bollywood are also expected to be part of the event, an official communiqué informed.
