NSCN (KK) hideout busted by armed forces in Arunachal's Changlang

Guwahati: Troops of Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh police in joint operation busted a hideout of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khole-Kitovi (NSCN-KK) near Jangji Havi in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday, June 18.

Based on the specific information, the joint team launched an operation in the area. During the course of the search, the team spotted a temporary hideout of the proscribed group. A detailed search of the hideout led to the recovery of a .22 Rifle, a 7.65 mm Pistol, 10 rounds of live ammunition, and other warlike stores.

The recovered arms, ammunition, and other stores have been handed over to Changlang Police Station for further investigations, informed officials.

In another operation, Assam Rifles and Arunachal police apprehended two cadres of Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland-Reformation NSCN(R) near Kangkho in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday, June 18.

Based on a specific input, the team launched a swift operation in the area. During the search, the team apprehended two active cadres who have been identified as self-styled Private Thungsam Ngemu and self-styled Private Wangphik Khohoi.

Army officials have informed that yhe apprehended insurgents are suspected to be involved in extortion activities for the faction in the district. The team also recovered one Point 22 Pistol, one 7.65 mm Pistol, and seven live rounds of ammunition from the cadres.

"The apprehension of the cadre has dealt a major blow to the activities of NSCN (R) in the district. The apprehended individuals along with recovered stores have been handed over to Changlang Police Station for further investigations", army officials said.
