Polling teams leave for their destinations in State from their respective district headquarters

Itanagar: In all 141 polling teams including those who will trek on foot for days left for their destinations from their respective district headquarters on Monday, election officials here said on Tuesday.
While each team to proceed on foot march was given reserve EVM/Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) sets, 300 sector officers across the state will also be moving with reserve EVM/VPAT sets in their vehicles to replace if the set of any PB goes defunct, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu informed. Koyu added that all reserve EVM/VPAT sets are linked through GPS trekking device, while trekking them through his computer.
However, 13,262 polling personnel have been engaged for 2,202 polling booths including 518 polling stations which require foot march.
The CEO office records said that 26 general observers, one special expenditure observer, 22 expenditure observers, two police observers and an accessibility observer have been deployed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) besides 484 micro observers for smooth conduct of polls.
