Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme held in Arunachal

KOLORIANG: With an objective to reach the unreached, Deputy Commissioner-cum Chairman District Health Society (DHS), Santosh Kumar Rai launched the Active Case Finding (ACF) activities under Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) at sub-judicial Lockup Koloriang on Friday here.

DC informed that the RNTBC programme, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India with the State Health Society (RNTCP), Directorate of Health Services and District Health Society (RNTCP) Koloriang will intensify its case finding activities by taking up ACF of TB cases from house to house screening of suspects and collecting sputum for early diagnosis and initiation of treatment.

Earlier, DC distributed edible fruits to the inmates of judicial lockup and also assured to co-operate with all the possible help from district administration during ACF activities in the District. In Technical Session, Field Case finding activity was done by District Health Society (RNTCP) Koloriang to mark the launching of ACF activities. Around 5 jail inmates and more than 50 police personnel and public were benefited by health screening and sputum collection for diagnosis.
