Role of school with a special purpose lauded in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Secretary Niharika Rai along with Special Secretary of Education Department Santosh Roi celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with the students of the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing & Visually Impaired.

Niharika inspected the different activities of institute and lauded the founder chairman, Gegong Apang for such a nobel and selfless initiative for the cause of humanity and assured all possible assistance.

Rai was overwhelmed with the services given to the differently-abled and he said that the students here are enlightened and positive and looks as if having profuse confidence and independence towards their future endeavour.

In his address, Gegong Apang recalled the early phase of hardship at the time of establishment of the school during 1990, whereas the process for its establishment was being initiated from 1983.

He expressed gratitude to the people and the government for their contribution towards the growth and progress of the school and equally extended his gratitude to the dedicated faculty of the school.

Meanwhile, Principal H Sharma stated that the institution is finding the possibilities to provide therapeutic management services to those adult persons with disabilities who couldn’t avail schooling.
