Rotavirus Vaccine Launched in Aalo, Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: The Rotavirus vaccine was formally launched at General Hospital Aalo in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday by former minister Doi Ado.

Addressing the gathering, Ado said that the medical science has been able to control child mortality to a great extent through various natures of vaccines. He cited example of a mother losing 12 children out of 13, due to epidemic like dysentery, diarrhea, malaria, etc., in those olden days due to lack of vaccines and medicines.

District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr Moli Riba, District Family Welfare Officer (DFWO) Dr Tomar Kamki and district project officer (DPO) Yomto Lollen disclosed that the vaccine are being administered free of cost to children while the vaccine costs Rs 1,000 in market. They appealed all parents to avail the facility.

The DMO in his deliberation appealed his doctors to ensure punctuality in offices and keep focus on swift health delivery system and sought cooperation all public and stake holders for improvements and growth as the hospital, an official release informed here on Saturday.
