ITANAGAR: The vice president of Indian National Artist Union Congress, Arunachal Pradesh and former Anchal Samiti Member (ASM) from 5-Borum Panchayat, Taba Thomas on Tuesday has declared that he will be contesting in the Assembly polls from 13th Itanagar Assembly constituency.

Addressing the public here at Tarajuli, Thomas said there is a need of change in the leadership for proper implementation of development projects in Itanagar constituency.

Taking cleanliness of the constituency as a priority, Thomas said until and unless there is cleanliness in and around the capital, there won’t be economic growth and tourist flow. “People visiting Itanagar excepts high standards of cleanliness but sadly one is welcomed by dust, garbage and pathetic road condition,” Thomas said adding that, cleanliness will be my first priority if elected.

“The world has reached new heights in terms of development, creativity and technology but yet few of our leaders are living in the orthodox manner, which needs to be changed, he added.

“Youths should be encouraged to contest in elections so that they can execute the new approach of work, policy-making and bring a sustainable working environment for the people,” Thomas said.
