Wunpawng FC Suicidal Stroke Leads Namphai-II United-A Towards Victory

BORDUMSA: Team Namphai-II United ‘A’ team thanking the providence returned back home victorious after stealing the maiden day of the prize money Independence Cup Tournament 2019 by 1-0 on Friday evening after the vanquished team Wungpawng FC itself offering the rival team to slap hard in the D box thus losing the game after committing an unforgivable suicidal hit that subsequently decided the fate of the game till the end.

The first day episode of the tournament being played here at Miao general playground in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh witnessed a neck to neck fierce battle and the loser Namphai-II United “A” team quite maintaining the spirits high even after the D box blunder during the initial first half of the collision fought on an aggressive format without letting the opponent cheer anymore except for the single –a deliberately lent opportunity.

The tournament being organized by scorpion Club of Miao was kicked off on Thursday afternoon following a formal inauguration by Somlung Mossang –an indomitable spirited sports fan of Changlang District who has also been the MLA of the nearby 49th Bordumsa –Diyun general Constituency in Changlang district. Mossang also is known for his confidence and courage of leading a normal life overcoming serious health-related hazards earlier caused due to stroke has been a renowned charity worker to dedicating for the cause of the health and sufferings of the downtrodden across Assam-Arunachal and Assam-Nagaland border areas.

Mossang who was the chief guest besides being the sponsor of the cash prizes of the tournament lauded the efforts of the Scorpion Club of Miao for their socio-educational, physical and cultural initiatives undertaken over a period of time to help to realize the multiple socio-educational and sports-oriented ends in the society. Mr. Mossang urged the gathering including the players and the youth’s segments of the society to lead a disciplined, punctual and harmonious life maintaining solidarity and objective –oriented lives as a sportsman does with its team in the playground. Other dignitaries to accompany the chief guest on the dice included the ADC Maio and Executive Engineer of Electrical Department. A brief sapling plantation program was also undertaken to mark the occasion.

According to Abijit Gogoi the member of the tournament organizing committee, the prize purse of the much-coveted tournament carries one lakh for the winning team while Rs. 75,000 would be for the runners-up team beside cash awards for other performance best categories including the best disciplined, best goalkeeper and best scorer, etc. The second day of the tournament was being played between the team Gorkha FC and Neirong FC till filling the report.
