13th nature orientation camp in KNP held at Numaligarh

Numaligarh: The 13th nature orientation camp started with a three-day programme at the Bagori range in Kaziranga National Park on Wednesday. A total of 37 students from 29 villages of fringe areas of the national park are participating in the three-day residential programme.

The opening ceremony of the natural orientation camp was held in the conference hall near the Bagori forest range office on Wednesday. Golaghat HWLW Uttam Saikia moderated the opening ceremony and KNP director P. Shivakumar inaugurated the programme in presence of KNP DFO Ramesh Kr Gogoi, ACF Ritupobon Bora, forest range officers Pongkoj Bora and Selim Ahmed, and other dignitaries.

The nature orientation camp was first held in 2007 and it has been organized every year since then for the last 12 years. Through this nature orientation camp, the focus will be laid on wildlife protection and awareness among young school students. The 13th nature orientation camp will conclude on Friday.
