TEZPUR: Altogether 1,400 presiding officers were imparted training in the first round of training held in Tezpur Election District, which is going to polls on March 27, over two days at two venues of the District Library auditorium and Sonitpur Zila Parishad office.

The training, which was held on March 4 and March 5, was held in four batches of 250 officials at District Library and 100 officials at the Sonitpur Zila Parishad office.

The polling personnel were given in-depth training about the entire poll process and were also given hands-on training on how to operate EVMs and VVPATs. Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh visited the training centres and addressed the officials and asked them to ensure that the polls are held in a free and fair manner.
