2 dead, 3 injured in road mishap in Sukanpukhuri near Demow

DEMOW: A road accident took place near Demow in Sukanpukhuri on Wednesday night on the day of Goru Bihu where two youths died and three youths were seriously injured. The deceased have been identified as Anirban Saikia, a resident of Sukanpukhuri Gayan Gaon, and Sanjay Das, a resident of Desang Rajabari Sumani Basti. According to sources, a Scooty (AS 04 X 9629) and a motorcycle (AS 04 C 9479) had a head-on collision in Demow Sukanpukhuri. The injured youths have been identified as Aman Ali, a resident of Japihajia Gaon, Kishore Saikia and Pranjal Saikia, both residents of Demow Gayan Gaon. The seriously injured youths were referred to Dibrugarh for better treatment. According to sources, a chaotic situation took place in the campus of Demow Model Hospital that night when the ambulance allegedly came late. An angry mob broke the glass of the ambulance and also the window panes of Demow Model Hospital. Demow Police and Nitaipukhuri Police reached the spot and controlled the situation.
