61 Meritorious girl students feted by Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhavan Management Committee in Bilasipara

BILASIPARA: To encourage female literacy, the Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhavan Management Committee felicitated altogether 61 girl students who secured first division in the 2019 HSLC examination, on Sunday. The students were felicitated with phoolam gamosa, certificate and pen.

Out of the 61 students, two students - one belonging to the SC community and another from the backward char area - who secured highest marks were felicitated with a scholarship of Rs 5,000 each. The Ambedkar Bhavan Management Committee declared that the two students would be given monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 each for the first year and the stipend would continue even in the second year if they secured at least 60 per cent marks. The Principal/Headmasters of the meritorious students were also felicitated. In this connection, a felicitation meeting was held in the premises of Ambedkar Bhavan with Dayal Paul, president of the Bhavan Committee, in the chair.
