87th Anniversary of Indian Air Force Commemorated by Air Force Station Digaru

GUWAHATI: To commemorate the 87th anniversary of Air Force, Air Force Station Digaru organized a week-long celebration on various events such as mini-marathon, tree plantation, band performance, cleanliness drive etc in and around Air Force Station to spread publicity. A combat drill display by the station air warriors and the motivational lecture was conducted for children at nearby schools. Apart from this, a scintillating cultural event was also organized to bring out the talent amongst the families of air warriors which was followed by a community dinner wherein around 800 personnel participated, stated a press release.

The event culminated with an oath-taking ceremony wherein Group Captain SG Murali, Station Commander administered pledge to 580 personnel and read out the greeting messages of important dignitaries received on the occasion of 87th Anniversary of Air Force Day. In his message, the Stn Cdr urged the personnel to be ever ready to respond to any eventuality and re-affirm commitment towards the defence of our nation by accomplishing the tasks with the utmost professionalism and selfless service.
