AASU along with 30 organisations release black balloons ahead of CM event in Golaghat

Golaghat: Expressing strong bitterness against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's role on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 issue, several AASU protesters in Golaghat made out to the streets ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the Golaghat Engineering College today. The protesters also waved black flags and shouted slogans against the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

As per reports, AASU along with 30 other organizations also released black balloons as a sign of protest against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's visit in the region and the controversial bill.

It may be mentioned that the protesters were not allowed to get inside the ceremonial programme by the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, however, the angry agitators then moved to the nearby paddy field areas to release the black balloons.

Meanwhile, no arrests have been in this regard, informed official sources.
