LAKHIMPUR: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) once again expressed vehement resentment in Lakhimpur against the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in the State regarding their alleged 'failure' with regard to providing employment to lakhs of unemployed youths of the State.

Regarding the issue, the North Lakhimpur regional unit of AASU flayed both governments by initiating protest programme on Monday. In this connection, the activists of the organization, led by president Pranjit Gogoi and general secretary Punamjyoti Buragohain, burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Main Charisli of North Lakhimpur town opposing 'the existing State Government's attitude of playing frivolous political game with the unemployed youths putting them into uncertain future'.

By staging the stir, North Lakhimpur regional unit AASU slammed the State BJP-led Government and the Chief Minister for their failure to give appointment in the Irrigation Department, APDCL, Foreigners' Tribunals and Agriculture Department, and in the declaration of the results of the tests held under APSC since 2018 and many other departments and agencies under the State government.
