All Assam Gaonburah Santha demands salary hike, compensation

GAURISAGAR: A delegate team of All Assam Gaonburah Santha led by president Dambarudhar Deori, secretary Samarendru Hazarika, executive president Ghanashyam Talukdar, organizing secretary Panku Bora and coordinator Dilip Dutta met State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at his Janata Bhavan office on Thursday and felicitated him on behalf of the Santha.

During interaction, the Gaonburah Santha also submitted a memorandum demanding that their monthly remuneration should be increased to Rs.27,500, an office for each gaon burah should be established and compensation of Rs 5 lakh for natural death and Rs 10 lakh for unnatural death of gaon burahs should be given to their respective families.

The minister assured the delegate team to fulfill their demands.
