All Assam Students’ Union (AASU)-supported candidates sweep college polls

Numaligarh: All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) supported candidates have captured the Morangi College (degree) students’ union by defeating their opponents. Rupam Kalita with highest votes has been elected as the president of the union. The post of vice-president has been won by Pahi Bailung. Manash Hazarika with highest votes has been elected as general secretary of the students’ union. As per the election results, the other winning candidates are Durlav Gogoi as cultural secretary, Kamal Konwar as debate secretary, Niharika Thengal as welfare secretary, Kiran Kumar Das as sports secretary and Arpana Tanti as girls’ common room secretary. They are all AASU-supported candidates. The president and general secretary of Morangi regional AASU, David Thengal and Prasurjya Duwerah have congratulated all the elected members.
