KOKRAJHAR: Activists of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) on Friday demanded the removal of the present director of Kokrajhar CIT over the process of recruitment and admission in the institute. “Since some time it has been evident that the CIT has been deviating from the very purpose it has been established after the long Bodoland movement, which was established as per the BTC Accord signed with the BLT, Government of Assam and the Government of India. This is very unfortunate that the entire process in the recruitment and admission has been seen to be flouted by some vested interest keeping the objective of CIT aloof,” the students’ body alleged.

The Assistant General Secretary of the ABSU Kwrwmdao Wary alleged that the current session of CIT Admission Entrance Test for the Diploma course has been found to be conducted with the same question papers of the previous year for several diplomas. He said the same entrance examination was conducted on May 19, 2019. “This is very much unfortunate that there is suspected to have some foul play to dilute the admission process. ABSU demands to stay the declaration of the CIT entrance results of diploma,” he said. They demanded the entrance test should be conducted again. He also said in case of the Post Graduate admission policy, which is already in process, the reservation policy of the CIT implemented in the Diploma and Degree programmes must be continued in the PG and Ph.D. level. The ABSU has also accused that in the recent recruitment notices, it has been seen that there is no reservation for the Schedule Tribes in the entire vacancies advertised.

“It’s very unfortunate that the STs are denied job opportunity in CIT which is in the Sixth Schedule districts,” the student body said. ABSU has also communicated with the CIT authority to stay the diploma entrance results.
