LAKHIMPUR: All Bodo Women Welfare Federation (ABWWF) on Wednesday observed its 36th foundation day in various places under Dhemaji district along with the rest of the State.

The Jonai regional committee of the ABWWF celebrated the event at Hatijan Bodo LP School premises. The agenda of the programme began with the unfurling of organizational flag by president Baileng Goyari at 9.00 am. The open session of the programme commenced with Baileng Goyari in the chair from 12.00 pm under the management of general secretary Minu Narzari. Taking part in the programme as chief guest, United Bodo People's Organization State president Manoranjan Basumatari said that the ABWWF had been playing an active and admiring role with regard to creating awareness among the women in the movement which had been carried out by the Bodo community in order to sustain the judicious rights. Saying that the women had initiated revolutionary activities throughout the ages in order to achieve their rights and social development, the UBPO president called upon the community women to extend their leadership for academic and socio-economic development.

On the other hand, Dhemaji district unit ABWWF president Phuleswari Doimari stated that the Bodo women had shouldered their responsibilities with nationalistic fervour during the hour of crisis of the community. She appealed to the community women to play a strong role in the movement to achieve comprehensive development and progress of the society. In the programme, UBPO Jonai regional committee president Lohit Goura Basumatari, general secretary Ashok Basumatari, and ABSU Jonai regional committee president Moujang Gosai Narzari also spoke on the occasion.

In addition to it, the Simen Chapori regional body of ABWWF observed the event at its chief office premises located at Manikpur. The programme kick-started with the unfurling of organizational flag by president Madhuri Basumatari, wherein Dhemaji district unit ABWWF advisers Sourjila Owari, Shobharani Basumatari, Simen Chapori unit general secretary Kusum Basumatari were present. The Gogamukh, and Madhya Jonai regional committees of the organization also celebrated the event in a befitting manner.
