All-party MLAs of Barak Valley to move Court against "barbaric act" of Kolasib SP

SILCHAR: A unanimous resolution was taken in the meeting to move the Court against the SP (Superintendent of Police) of Kolasib for the barbaric act that led to the death of six Assam Police personnel. It was also decided that an action should be taken against Mizoram's lone Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena for his unpardonable statement outside Parliament.

This decision was taken at the 'Joint All Party MLAs of Barak Valley' held a meeting at Circuit House Silchar here on Friday. The meeting was presided by the 'Guardian Minister' for Cachar Ashok Singhal. Altogether 11 out of 15 MLAs of three districts of Barak valley were present in the meeting.

Later, while addressing the media persons, Guardian Minister, Singhal said that all MLAs are united to resolve this crisis. Cutting across the party lines, all MLAs have assured of support for any positive step the Government of Assam takes, which was supported by MLA North Karimganj, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha.

Siddeque Ahmed, former Border Development Minister also said that they are with the Chief Minister of Assam and hoped that the Chief Minister would put in all efforts for a permanent solution to the border dispute with Mizoram.

Karim Uddin Barbhuiya, MLA Sonai of AIUDF, said that all must go hand-in-hand with the masses to tide over this crisis and he is optimistic that the dynamic Chief Minister won't disappoint the people of this region, stated in a press release issued from DDIPR office silchar Assam.
