All-religion prayer for boxer Lovlina Borgohain held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Along with the rest of the State, an all-religion prayer for boxer Lovlina Borgohain to win the gold medal in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics was organized at SAI-SAG Centre, Kanthalguri in Kokrajhar under the aegis of the Sports and Youth Welfare, BTC on Tuesday. As many as nine religious groups participated in the religious prayer for Lovelina that included Bathou (Bibar), Bathou (Trishakti), Christian, Islam, Satsang, Jain, Brahma, Sankari and Krishnaguru.

As part of the programme, the BTC EM of Sports and Youth Welfare, Daobaisa Boro paid floral tribute to the martyrs of the Assam Police who were killed in the Assam-Mizoram border clash recently. He took part in the prayers and extended best wishes for boxer Lovlina Borgohain for winning the gold medal in the Olympics.

Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Pratik Vijay Kumar Thube said that boxer Lovlina was an inspiration for the youth and she was an example that the State and the region had a lot of talent if given proper opportunity and facilities. He hoped that she would bring gold medal for India.

Earlier, the CHD, Sports and Youth Welfare, BTC, Jajnabati Basumatary gave the key-note address and elaborated regarding the holding of the all-religion prayer where they received good response from every community.
