Applications for e-pass in Dima Hasao rejected due to submission in wrong destination

Haflong: Soon after the declaration of Assam government’s decision to permit inter-district movement for three days from April 25, there have been many calls and queries received at the district headquarters office, Haflong from those people who are stuck at different places within Assam in the wake of COVID-19 lockdown. The inter district movement will be in accordance to the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affair, as directed by the State government. In Dima Hasao there have been as many as 103 numbers of applications of which more than half have been rejected due to submission of application in wrong destination, request for night halt etc which are restricted by the government already.

Those people who have acquired permissions from their respective district administrations, where stranded, will be allowed to move back to their places within these three days from April 25 to April 27. The arrangement with Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) buses will enable approved applicants who call 104 or whose applications are received in the link, opted for the public transport as provided by the government.

However in terms of the stranded labours in Dima Hasao, the concerned company or contractors will arrange for transportation for inter district movement with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner, within the three-day period. People, who have their own vehicle arrangement and have applied for e-pass at the district administration of their present location, will be allowed point to point movement through most direct route without any provision for night stay.
