Army conducts self-defense training for women in Nalbari district

GUWAHATI: As a prelude to the upcoming International Women’s Day and conscious to the increasing danger to the safety of women in our society, a unit of Indian Army organized a demonstration on self-defense themed ‘Stronger You Stronger Society’ for the local womenfolk at Dhamdhama Anchalik College in Nalbari district, stated a press release. The demonstration intended to address fear and empower the girls morally, mentally and physically to defend themselves in any situation. The demonstration was conducted by Jawan who is an international Taekwondo player of the Indian Army along with two local girls, Priyanka and Jinti Rajbonshi, players of International repute from the local region. As an embodiment of the government “She Inspires Us” campaign, a senior lady officer from the Indian Army and Juppi Bordoloi, DSP from Nalbari Police were felicitated as women achievers of our nation.
