Assam: Pension Seva Kendra inaugurated in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Along with other parts of the State, Pension Sewa Kendra (PSK) was inaugurated in Kokrajhar on Friday. Assam Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation and Guardian Minister of Kokrajhar district, Ashok Singhal, in the presence of BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, inaugurated the PSK of Kokrajhar district in the conference hall of office of the Director of Education department, Kokrajhar. PSK in the district offices of the Education Department were set up to serve the pension related cases of state government employees. MLA Lawrence Islary, BTC Executive Members Arup Kumar Dey, Gautam Das, BTC principal secretary Anurag Goel, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka, leading citizens and pensioners were among those present in the event. Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka delivered the inaugural address of the meeting to mark the opening of PSK in Kokrajhar. She said that the retired employees would be greatly benefited through this Kendras as the government had taken steps to issue Pension Payment Order timely before retirement. After inaugurating the PSK, minister Ashok Singhal in his speech said that with the commencement of PSK operations, no retired employees would have to face harassment for pension-related work. He noted that in the last one year, the government had taken several initiatives for social harmony, feel-good factor to ensure that people were not harassed. He also lauded the BTC government led by CEM Pramod Boro for taking up several developmental steps for the uplift of citizens. In his speech, BTC CEM Pramod Boro also praised the Chief Minister for the step taken for setting up of PSKs at district level. He expressed his hope that the problems of the pensioners would be solved from now on with the functioning of PSKs in the state. He also urged frontline office assistants to always remain sensitive and compassionate towards pensioners. BTC Principal Secretary Anurag Goel asked government departments to honor their retired employees with smartphones instead of umbrellas and suitcases from now on so that they can register and track their names and upload their essential documents over the phone from home on the 'Kritigyata'portal launched by the government for early recieve of their Pension Payment Order. On the occasion, minister Ashok Singhal formally uploaded the name of a retired employee on the 'Kritigyata' portal. On Friday, 27 PSKs were set up across the State through AMTRON.
