Assam Flood: BSF rescued three Civilians from an overturned boat in Dhubri

Guwahati: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) apart from management of Indo-Bangladesh International Border comes into the rescue of civilians during an emergency situation like natural calamity, dousing the devastating fire and providing medical assistance.

Here’s a story of the BSF jawans, three civilians of border village Dubripar under PS & District Dhubri (Assam), were rescued by BSF while they were drowning in the high current of the River Gangadhar on Sunday.

BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Tistapara are deployed in District Dhubri (Assam) under BSF Guwahati Frontier and dominating & keeping surveillance on the border area.

On 14th July 2019 at about 12.30 pm, three civilians of Indian village Dubripar went for cutting the grass by a 'Chappu boat' from an almost submerged Char near village Baladoba part-2 in the midst of ferociously flowing River Gangadhar, which is having a width of appx 3 km at present coupled with excessively swift current. There 'Chappu Boat' got overturned almost in the centre of the River Gangadhar. These civilians, endeavoring to swim across the river, started tiring out and came on the verge of drowning in the River Gangadhar due to the high current and away from the shore but almost one and a half kilometre on either side. The BSF Sentry at the Observation Point of BOP Tistapara observed them and the BSF speedboat with the team come into action and rescued them from the centre of River Gangadhar. above civilians were identified as

all of them from R/o vilDubripar, PS &DistDhubri (Assam).
