Assam Floods: Relief Materials Distributed Among Flood-Hit People in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: Sadou Asom Kabi Sanmilan Tinsukia district committee distributed flood relief materials collected by its branches at Margherita, Laipuli, Barbarua and Doomdooma Sundaram Kabi Sanmilan and Tinsukia Matribhumi Kabi Mancha to flood victims of Aichung village of Laika-Dadhia on Friday. They reached there by boat and distributed the relief materials under the leadership of President Dr. Ranjit Dutta and secretary Diganta Bhajani.

Several other NGOs too offered their helping hand in mitigating the plight of the flood victims. The Doomdooma Branch of Bir Lachit Sena distributed flood relief materials to Nanda Sonowal, gaon burah of Laina village under Doomdooma Revenue Circle. Members of Basundhara Self-Help Group of No.8 Sookerating, Doomdooma also distributed flood relief materials to 85 flood-affected families taking shelter at Baghjan LP School.

Along with this, Assamese woman Moni Syed living in Australia came forward to help the distressed people along with six other women of Tinsukia district under the banner of ‘Helping hands, we care’. They distributed relief materials to 110 families of Baghjan village.

Free Soul Riders, a bike riders’ group of Barhapjan distributed flood relief materials among 4,500 flood victims of Dadhia, Mahmora, Papita, Kuli, Romain, Sasuti and Tengapani villages under Bindha Kota Gaon Panchayat (GP) in Dibrugarh district.
