GUWAHATI : There have been speculations about the former Bodaland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief, Hagrama Mohilary to soon join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

On 16th of November, Hagrama Mohilary met the leader of Rashtrya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Indresh Kumar, and sought his blessings in Nagpur. It was witnessed that Mohilary took hold of the leader's feet and prayed. This gesture of him also raised speculation of him being freshly inclined towards the BJP.

As per sources, it is assumed that this is the result of the declaration made by Bhavesh Kalita. Recently, on 15th of November 2022, Assam BJP President, Bhavesh Kalita announced that BJP's affiliation and unity is only with the United People Party Liberal ( UPPL) and not with the Hagrama Mohilary led BPF party.

The political pundits referred the decision of Hagrama Mohilary to join BJP as a mindful tactic to build an alliance with the BJP government to gain support and assistance. This decision of Mohilary is purely based on the current situation of his political party.

As the BPF is slowly losing it's existence in the political scenario, Mohilary is planning to merge with the Bharatiya Janata Party in order to get back it's political identity and power. As per the reports, Mohilary's BPF party is in need of some support and substancial backing from the BJP's.

Mohilary also wants to run in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat in collision with the BJP.

Contrary to his ideas, the BJP government does not seem to be interested in supporting Mohilary's BPF party. Evidently, BPF is losing it's political existence in the State and their condition is getting even more worst than the Assam Gana Parishad (AGP). In order to redeem his party, Hagrama initiated these strategies. If this happens, it will be a new turn in the political scenario of the State.
