TINSUKIA: An awareness campaign on 'COVID -19 specific and positive messages through miking' was organized by Assam Branch Indian Tea Association in support with UNICEF Assam held on Thursday in different 32 tea gardens of Zone 1. The objective of this awareness programme was to disseminate information regarding prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic among the assam tea garden residents. The awareness spread through miking in the labour lines and worksites. The message covered the general information on COVID-19, basic principles of infection prevention and control.

The targeted gardens were Greenwood, Maijan, Hattialli, Sealkotee, Borborooah, Jamirah, Nalani, Rungagora, Deohall, Hatimara,Sree Krishna, Hollonghabi, Beesakopie, Daimukhia, Hokonguri, Hilika, Margherita, Namdang,Jutlibari, Zaloni, Nahorkutia, Langharjan, Tinkong, Teen Ali, Khowang, Duliabam, Moran, Sepon, Hingrijan, Doomur Dullung, Deamoolie and Baghjan Tea Estates. The campaign reached out to nearly about 35,000 tea garden workers.
