Awareness Programme on Boosting Reading Habit in Chirang District

KOKRAJHAR: An awareness programme on increasing reading habit in the society-cum-career counselling was organized by the People’s Aid, a Kokrajhar-based NGO, in collaboration with the Council Head of the Department (CHD), Library Services, BTC at Borobazar community hall under Bijni subdivision in Chirang district on Tuesday.

Ranjan K. Baruah, career mentor and founder of North East Youth Foundation; Sangrang Brahma, Librarian of Bodoland University (BU) and Bichitra Narzary, Reference Librarian of Director of Library Services, BTC, graced the programme as resource persons. The programme was inaugurated by Subilal Daimary, vice-president of Bijni Anchalik Committee ABSU.

As many as 250 students from different schools and colleges of Borobazar area participated in the programme. The programme was chaired by Nava Kumar Basumatary, president of the People’s Aid.
