5,000 masks distributed among public in Tamulpur

BAKSA: The Baksa district administration and the DDMA (District Disaster Management Authority) has initiated several measures to check COVID-19 transmission in Baksa district.

District Magistrate, Chairman of Baksa DDMA and Deputy Commissioner of Baksa district, Ranjan Sharma has issued guidelines to the Circle Officers for taking emergency measures to control COVID transmission throughout the district.

Following the instruction of the Deputy Commissioner, the Tamulpur subdivision administration made announcements on mike on Wednesday to create awareness among people and to urge them to follow government guidelines.

Circle Officer of Tamulpur Revenue Circle, Rupkamal Rabha went to various places like Tamulpur subdivision town, Ghogra Chowk, Tamulpur Bazar Chowk, Matanga Chowk and Ramechuburi weekly market and distributed 5,000 face masks among the public. He urged the people to protect themselves as well as their families by wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing.

Addressing media persons, Circle Officer of Tamulpur Revenue Circle, Rupkamal Rabha said, "Anyone who violates the government rules or does not wear mask will be fined. Nobody will be excused."

There are 67 active COVIDcases in Tamulpur subdivision. On Wednesday, 18 persons tested COVID positive in Baksa district and there are 128 active cases in various parts of Baksa district.
