Barpeta police seized heroin at Sonkuchy Colony

BARPETA: Acting on a tipoff, a team of Barpeta police led by Ranjan Doley, in-charge of Barpeta Sadar Police Station, carried out a search operation in the house of Rafikul Islam of Sonkuchy Colony and recovered heroine there. On seeing the police team, Rafikul Islam fled.

During the search, a soap case containing 8.41 gm heroin and 20 numbers of empty containers and Rs 60,190 were recovered from the house. In this regard, Police detained Rashida Khatun -- wife of Rafikul Islam. She was brought to Barpeta Sadar police station for interrogation.
