GUWAHATI: In an unfortunate incident, the chief manager of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) passed away of Covid19 infection at the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on April 14.

According to reports, the 45-year-old BCPL official identified as Manob Jyoti Duarah passed away at around 11.30 AM.

As per Dr. Prashanta Dihingia, superintendent of AMCH, Duarah was a diabetic patient and with high blood pressure.

Further, the deceased was admitted to the SARI Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the medicine unit on April 10.

According to sources, Manab Jyoti Dowerah traveled to Guwahati recently with his family and after the test, all of them tested positive for Covid19.

The data of the National Health Mission, Assam, a total of 2,924 positive cases were detected in the state during the period of March 27 to April 13 and out of which 2,061 or 75.85 percent cases were detected after the polling for assembly election was over.
