Biennial conference of Udalguri Zila Kavi Samaj

UDALGURI: The fourth biennial conference of Udalguri Zila Kavi Samaj was held at Udalguri Sahitya Sabha Bhavan with a day-long programme.

The flag of Kavi Samaj was hoisted by Gautam Jyoti Talukdar, the president of Udalguri Zila Kavi Samaj, which was followed by swahid tarpan by Ramayan Basumatari, the vice-president of Kavi Samaj.

During the meeting, a new body for the next two years term was formed with Gautam Jyoti Talukdar as president, Gayatri Bhattarai, Anju Goswami Kalia and Ranju Das as vice-presidents, and Baidyanath Upadhyaya as general secretary. The open session, presided over by Gautam Jyoti Talukdar, was inaugurated by Tarapati Upadhyaya, noted litterateur of Udalguri. The quarterly poetry magazine Sugandhi Kavita was released by Dr. Kailas Chamua while Moinar Manor Burburani by Ranju Das was released by Ranu Bora and Jivanor Bate Bate by Meena Dutta Barua was released by Baidyanath Upadhyaya.
