TANGLA: In the stronghold of its ally, Bodoland Peoples' Front (BPF) in BTC, the BJP has made it clear that it has decided to try its fate and fight alone in the forthcoming BTC polls . In an emergent BJP party workers meet at Tangla in Udalguri district on Saturday, Mangaldai Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Dilip Saikia and Assam Minister of Irrigation (Independent), Bhabesh Kalita, among local party leaders had threadbare discussions in regard to the strategy of the party for the forthcoming BTC elections.

Talking to mediapersons, on the sidelines of the meet, Mangaldai Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Dilip Saikia dusted all the rumours making rounds among the civic society in regards of the saffron party's pre-poll alliance with BPF or UPPL. "We want our party workers and the voters to get it loud and clear that we are not in alliance with any party and we will contest the polls solo." added Saikia. Pertinently, Bodoland People's Front (BPF) with its 12 MLA's is in alliance with BJP in Dispur and is power ever since the formation of BTC in 2003. BPF romped back to power in BTC council in 2015 for the third tenure winning 20 out of 40 seats.
