JAGUN: The bodies of two children, who were missing since Sunday afternoon at Kharangkong village under Lekhapani police station in Margherita, were recovered on Monday morning.

According to sources, Kapil Saikia (7), son of Debojit Saikia, and Bitupan Handiqe (8), son of Krishna Kanta Handique, of Kharangkong village in Lekhapani were reportedly missing since Sunday afternoon when they were playing near their homes. After they went missing, the family members of both the children informed the police. The police launched a search operation on Sunday but failed to trace their whereabouts.

In the morning on Monday, a village man named Khirud Likson found the bodies of the missing children floating in the pond of one Gopal Gogoi. The bodies were sent for post-mortem and investigation is on.
