TANGLA: The Khalingduar Block Committee of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) in Udalguri district has alleged that the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) members have been conducting hectic election campaigning in remote villages under the constituency in the wake of indefinite postponement of BTC polls and lockdown to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus.
In a press statement signed by in-charge president, Dwithun Baro and general secretary Sankar Sarkar on Wednesday, it was alleged that under the pretext of conducting awareness drive against the coronavirus pandemic in villages, election campaigning was going on by violating the model code of conduct. Talking to this correspondent, Sankar Sarkar said, “We have already written to the State Election Commissioner seeking exemplary action in this regard.”
