KOKRAJHAR: MLA of 29-Kokrajhar West, RabiramNarzary on Thursday said that the BTR accord was nothing but a 'rotten egg' as it was just about renaming the BTC.

Addressing the huge gathering of Bodoland People's Front (BPF) organized by Women's Wing BPF at South Aflagaon for Banargaon and Dotma constituency, Narzary said the BTR accord would not be able to fulfill the aspirations of the people as there was nothing new in the new accord. He said the BPF was the only party which had strong support base from all communities. He also said that the BPF would come back to power with absolute majority.

Narzary said the members of United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) had been distributing forms to the villagers for Arunodoi scheme and PMAY houses which was not legal. He said they were not the authority to distribute forms for government schemes. "For government schemes, we the MLAs are the only members of the selection committee in the respective districts to select the beneficiaries," he said, adding that the forms collected by UPPL agents would be submitted to the Block Office which would be sent to district head office for scrutiny and selection. He said he would reject the forms submitted by the agents of opposition parties. He assured that the supporters of BPF would get preference while supporters of the opposition coming to BPF would also be considered for the scheme. He called upon the masses not to be misled by fraud agents who did not have authority to distribute forms for government schemes.

Recollecting his history of being leader of opposition, Narzary said he had experience of being part of both ruling party and opposition and thus he could sense that BPF would return to power in BTC by getting absolute majority.

The grand public gathering was addressed by Dr. Anjali Daimary, secretary of the BPF, president of Women's Wing BPF Supria Rani Brahma and was also attended by former EM of BTC, DoneswarGoyary, BPF candidate of Banargaon and former EM, Rajib Brahma and other leaders.
