Brisk preparations on for Rongali Bihu Sanmilan at Golaghat Samannay Khetra

GOLAGHAT: Brisk preparations are going on to hold the 58th Golaghat Kendriya Rongali Bihu Sanmilan at Golaghat Samannay Khetra with a three- day long programme from April 30 to May 2. For smooth conduct of the Bihu Sanmilan, an organizing committee has already been formed in this connection with Rohit Gogoi as president, Debajit Phukan as working president, Partha Jyoti Bora and Mridul Saikia as joint secretaries along with different sub-committees.

The organizing committee, with support from the people of Golaghat, has been working on a war-footing to hold the Golaghat Kendriya Rongali Bihu Sanmilan. The Rongali Bihu Sanmilan will start with flag hosting by the president of the Bihu Sanmilan, Rohit Gogoi and later a cultural procession will be taken out throughout Golaghat town. Various competitions like Bor Bihuwati, Xaru Bihuwati, husori and Jeng will be held.

On the last day, various traditional games will be held among the people. The Golaghat Kendriya Rongali Bihu Sanmilan Dhansiri Upatyaka Bota will be conferred to noted artist Bipul Chetia Phukan and a souvenir titled Bihuwan will be launched. In the cultural programme in the evening, famous singer Zubeen Garg will perform.

DEMOW: Under the patronage of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Demow Regional Committee and in association with the people of Demow, the Rongali Bihu Sanmillan will be organized in Demow Public Playground on May 7 and May 8 with a two-day long programme. Regarding this an organizing committee for the Rongali Bihu Sanmillan was formed recently where Luhit Saikia was selected as president, Aditya Sarma was selected as chief secretary and Raj Kishore Bhumij and Dipankar Pratim Chetia were selected joint secretaries.
