BONGAIGAON/KOKRAJHAR: Ahead of the ensuing assembly election, the Expenditure Monitoring cell of Chirang election district has so far inspected the election expenditure registers, vouchers/bills of the contesting candidates of 31- Sidli (ST) assembly segment twice.

The first and second inspections were conducted on March 26 and April 1 respectively in the presence of Election Expenditure Observer V. Ramanadha Reddy in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office at Kajalgaon.

During the inspection, all the expenditures incurred by the contesting candidates and shown in their expenditure registers, vouchers/bills were thoroughly examined, inspected and compared with the Shadow Registers and folders of evidence maintained by the Accounting Team.

The deficiencies and unfulfilled spaces were brought to the notice of election agents and notices were issued to those who failed to present the expenditure registers as per requirement. Similar inspection will also be done in the third inspection on April 5.

The Expenditure Observer for 31-Sidli (ST) Legislative Assembly Constituency asked all the election agents of contesting candidates to correctly maintain their accounts for all the expenditures from the date of nomination to the date of declaration of the result of election, including regular updating of their bank passbooks so that all contesting candidates can submit their final report after 30 days of declaration of result.
