Chandra Mohan Patowary launches scathing attack on Congress, AGP

GAURISAGAR: “The AGP has no right to criticize the BJP as they have an unholy nexus with AUIDF and Congress, which is a greater threat to the State,” said State Transport, Industry and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary while addressing in a Panchayat poll rally held at Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district in front of ASTC bus stand complex.

He also strongly criticized former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta. “The AGP was formed to properly implement the Assam Accord. But what did he do in his two terms in power?” said Patowary. He said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 was not a threat to the nation. The IMDT Act was a threat to the nation and it has been scrapped, he added.

Patowary also opined that the 70 ethnic organizations were agitating against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 under the instigation of some intellectuals of the State. He also strongly criticized the Congress and said that the Congress ruled for 15 years in the State by distributing loom and blanket. BJP spokesman and chairman of Assam Tourism Development Corporation, Jayanta Malla Baruah also criticized sitting MLA Prodip Hazarika and Ankita Dutta, daughter of Congress leader Anjan Dutta. He urged people to cast their valuable votes in favour of the BJP.
